Conference Format

The conference will begin with a registration session in the foyer of the Renold Building on Sunday 24 July and will continue with the scientific programme consisting of oral and poster presentation sessions from Monday morning until Friday afternoon.  There will be a welcome reception at the Town Hall in the heart of the city centre, on Monday evening (25 July), and the conference banquet will be held at Old Trafford, the home of the world famous Manchester United football club, on Thursday evening (28 July). Other social events will also be organised throughout the week.

Posters are to have a maximum A0 portrait presentation size, and it is the intention that these will be on display for the whole duration of the conference. Oral presentation slots will be 15 minutes long, generally following a format of a talk of 12 minutes duration followed by 3 minutes of questions. Strict time keeping will be maintained to keep the conference to the planned schedule.

Oral presentations should be provided as Powerpoint (.ppt) (* state version) format files and be uploaded (and checked) in the presentation uploading/checking room where help will be on hand, should technical problems arise, preferably on the day prior to the presenting session, or at least one full session before the session in which they are due to be presented.
