Social Programme, Activities and Excursions

There are several social events planned for delegates. These include:

25 July, 6pm - Icebreaker

Town Hall

The Icebreaker, sponsored by the City of Manchester, will be held at the Manchester Town Hall. Affectionately known as “King Cotton’s Palace”, Manchester’s Town Hall is an opulent testament to the success of the city after the Industrial Revolution. The Great Hall, modelled on a Flemish weavers hall is decorated by 12 murals by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Ford Madox Brown and infers a gravitas on any gathering.

28 July - Conference dinner

Manchester United Football ClubThe Ultimate Venue: Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. It is not only regarded as one of world football's greatest stadiums, it's also one of the leading banqueting venues in the UK. The recent stadium expansion has brought a number of new benefits and added 2,949 sqm of hospitality, conference and event space. Boasting 24 purpose built event suites and a host of smaller meeting rooms, Old Trafford Football Stadium can cater perfectly for the ICCP Conference Dinner with space for over 1,000 guests.
Old Trafford is easily accessible; located less than two miles from Manchester City Centre and even closer to the motorway network. Manchester United has an expert event management team who are on hand to assist at all stages of the event planning process and when it comes to dining, Old Trafford offers a range of superb catering options. Transport to the venue will be provided.

FREE Walking Tours App

We understand that many conference delegates may want to explore Manchester, but may not have the time to attend an official walking tour. That’s why a free walking tours app has been created, which can be used by all participants with an iPhone.

The app is an audio-visual experience that allows delegates to explore the city and discover its defining moments and untold stories using routes created by the people who know Manchester best. Each tour is enhanced with layers of extra content and images from the city archives.
